About Us

Bagel Street Deli has been an Athens fixture since 1993 and is owned by three long time Athens residents.  Lenny & Megan Meyer and Art Oestrike all worked at BSD while attending Ohio University for both their undergraduate’s and master’s degrees.   Eventually, all three found themselves working in various aspects of the education field, both in the area public schools and at OU.  Presently, multitasking has become their way of life!

Outside of BSD, Lenny Meyer teaches Social Studies at Logan-Hocking High School and Megan teaches Math at Alexander Middle School.  They are kept busy at home with a three year old son, a one year old daughter, and two dogs, Milo & Grover!

Art Oestrike keeps himself on the go with his teaching at Ohio University and his ownership/expansion of Jackie O’s Pub & Brewery in Athens.  Art’s hard work has led to the opening of Jackie O’s Public House, which allows for the creation of many new hand-crafted beers, the largest music venue in Athens and a fabulous menu for both lunch and dinner.
